Balikatan 2022 - Special Forces conduct beach assault operations

US Defense Department - Members with the Naval Special Warfare Group, 2d Commando Regiment, Philippine Special Operations Command conduct beach assault operations during Exercise Balikatan 22 in the Philippines, April 5, 2022. Balikatan is an annual exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and U.S. military designed to strengthen bilateral interoperability, capabilities, trust, and cooperation built over decades of shared experiences. Balikatan, Tagalog for ‘shoulder-to-shoulder,’ is a longstanding bilateral exercise between the Philippines and the United States highlighting the deep-rooted partnership between both countries. Balikatan 22 is the 37th iteration of the exercise and coincides with the 75th anniversary of U.S.-Philippine security cooperation.

US Air Force Kicks Off 2022’s First Red Flag Exercise

SCOPUS - More than 100 aircraft and 3,000 soldiers have arrived at Nellis Air Force Base to participate in the first Red Flag exercise of the year, the US Air Force announced. Running from January 24 to February 11, the drill will provide realistic military training and increase combat effectiveness. “Red Flag-Nellis 22-1 is America’s premier air combat exercise focused on readiness and partnering through Air Expeditionary Wing-led strike ops,” Col. Jared Hutchinson, 414th Combat Training Squadron commander, said in a military statement.
